Position Description:
The Enoch Pratt Free Library is in search of a Manager of Speaking and Author Engagement to coordinate and direct system wide speaker and author programs, for all age levels for the Enoch Pratt Free Library System.
In collaboration with key leadership this position will curate and execute the library's robust speakers' and authors' programs as well as the popular Booklover's Breakfast, which welcomes over 500 guests. Through four renowned lecture series, the library hosts numerous speakers each year for public programs (live and virtual) and private events.
Past speakers include Spike Lee, Dan Rather, Colson Whitehead, Anna Deavere Smith, Jason Reynolds and othersThe Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining community partnerships to further adult programming & literary events throughout the community.

The Manager, Speaking and Author Engagement
* Coordinates and delivers system-wide speaker and author programs virtual and in-person, leading the programming committee work & meetings.
* Initiates, plans, directs and evaluates programs and activities for various age level programming.
* Stays current with developments and changes in the field of literature
* Gathers and analyzes data on programming and evaluates current program offerings
* Supervises, instructs and evaluates departmental staff
* Assists with all programs & outreach as needed
Creates & maintains community partnerships to further programming & literary events throughout the community
Responsible for a programming budget
Cooperates with other departments as needed to further mission
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with relevant focus. At least five years' experience in related fields. Demonstrated knowledge of programming trends. Relevant experience in coordinating and directing public information programs. Experience in project management and administration. Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Be thoroughly familiar with current theories of library programming.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to create and present information in group settings to both staff and public.
Proven experience in program, policy and project management, especially in a library setting.
Experience in providing library or related services to diverse communities.
Familiarity with outcome-based planning and evaluation.
Proven successful fiscal planning and budget management experience.
