The Lyric Baltimore’s Education team is searching for innovative, excited,
and dedicated artists to provide exceptional arts programming. In partnership with the Baltimore Office of Promotions and the Arts (BOPA) we are seeking teaching artists to provide multi-genre creative writing workshops for youth ages 9-16.
Responsibilities
Teach a 10-week virtual creative writing workshop for students ages 9-16
Create an innovative artistic curriculum to educate youth
Become familiar with the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Arrive to the Zoom 15-20 min in advance to set up and prep for class
Attend at least 2 meetings with the Lyric Education/BOPA team
Provide weekly updates in writing about how the program is going
Desired skills and attributes
Has a strong desire and passion to work with youth and inspire them to excel at their fullest potential.
Is a poet and/or writer.
Has over 3 years of experience teaching youth in grades 5-12th; summer camps, in and out of school programming, workshops, arts administration etc.
Salary Range
$125/hr for 10 weeks
1 hour of class time per week
2 meetings with the Lyric/BOPA team
Teaching once per week
