Dance & Bmore's Youth Program, Voices of Carmen is holding auditions and interviews for talented and enthusiastic youth 14 - 21yrs for their 2023 summer program and production.

Organization Description: Dance & Bmore (DAB) is a Baltimore-based ensemble of musicians, dancers, and theater-makers engaging communities through the arts. DAB programs are multigenerational, engaging youth, families, and senior citizens.

What is Voices of Carmen?

Voices of Carmen is a youth performing arts program of Dance & Bmore. It is also:

- An on the job training and mentorship program for adolescents

- A creative collaboration between youth and adults

- An original musical theater production

- A community conversation focused on emotional health and de-escalating conflict.

Job Title: Voices of Carmen Company Member

Role descriptions:

Cast Members: Cast members are performing artists who sing, dance, act, and/or rap. All cast members are required to attend daily rehearsals. Cast members are required to learn and perform music, dialogue, choreography, and blocking (movement on stage/camera) as directed by the Director and Creative Team. All cast members will also learn how to facilitate community conversations and talk-backs.

Crew Members: The crew members will be trained by and collaborate with the Creative Team to create audio/video capture schedules, organize media, create social media posts, create and organize props and costumes, and host livestream shows. All crew members will learn to use Canva for graphic design, lighting and capture by a professional videographer creative feedback methods to facilitate community conversations and talk-backs.

Minimum and preferred qualifications:

Age requirements: 14 - 21 yrs
Interest or experience working in theater
Collaborative and curious
Experience working with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, etc)

Time: Summer, part time, 25 hours per week for 5 weeks July 10th - August 11th, 2023

Pay Rate: $13.25/hr
