Strand Theater Company seeks Actors for AAPI Women's Voices Theatre Festival

Strand Theater Company and the Asian Pasifika Arts Collective (APAC) are holding auditions for our first ever AAPI Women's Voices Theater Festival, taking place May 6th - 22nd, 2022.

We are looking for both Actors and Directors to participate. The festival will consist of 6 short-plays written by AAPI playwrights from across the U.S., performed script-in-hand by local Baltimore and DMV actors, and directed by AAPI female or non-binary Directors. Each actor and director selected will be expected to participate in 2-4 plays, depending on the final casting choices/needs. All participants will be offered a $200 stipend, with the potential to be paid more!

Auditions for actors will be taking place at the Strand Theater in Baltimore, located at 5426 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21214 on Monday, March 28 from 6-8 PM

Audition slots are 15min. in length and must be scheduled beforehand. Once you have reserved your audition slot, we will forward you sides to prepare for the audition. Please also include your resume (if able) and headshots for our casting team. Previous acting experience and professional headshots are NOT required as we encourage people of varying backgrounds to have the opportunity to audition and participate!

Additional Details
Rehearsals will tentatively begin on Monday, April 4 with a virtual table read with all cast members and directors present (official schedules TBD once casting is complete). Please also note the following dates for tech, dress rehearsals and final performances:
