General auditions are for our upcoming shows: Tornkid (working title) and #ModelMinority: A Musical Parody Revue.

PLEASE BRING:
A hard copy of your headshot & resume. Please be sure to securely fasten resumes to your headshots.
Come prepared with either two contrasting 60 second monologues OR one 60 second contemporary monologue and 32 bars of music. An accompanist will be provided.
Musical performers of all backgrounds are invited to audition, including rap and hip hop performers.
All auditionees must provide their own sheet music.
No a cappella or recorded tracks please.
Option: All non-singer, non-rapper auditionees are welcome to bring their own instruments and perform a 30 second instrumental piece.

OUR PRODUCTIONS:

TORNKID (working title) in collaboration with Cohesion Theatre Company as part of their 2019 Season
DESCRIPTION:
Tornkid is about the stories that tie us to our family, our heritage, and our future. Drawing from myths & legends of the Pacific Indigenous peoples of Asia to explore identity, we will be devising an original, new work with a commissioned script by New York based, Filipino-American playwright Katelynn Kenney. Cohesion Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Jessica Rassp will be creating original puppets to bring this vivid world to life.
SEEKING:
Looking for actors who are interested in movement and ensemble based devising work. Actors will be playing multiple roles throughout the play. In need of two AAPI identifying actors; all other roles are open to any and all identities. Experience in puppetry and mask work is a plus.
REHEARSALS:
Starts April 1st
Monday - Thursday, 6 PM - 10 PM and some Saturdays 9 AM - 1 PM
Tech runs May 10 - May 14
PRODUCTION DATES:
Opening Night: Thursday, May 16
Runs: Thursday, May 16 - Sunday, June 2
ADDITIONAL:
All actors cast will be required to participate in a mandatory developmental workshop which will take place for one weekend in March. Dates and times will be decided once casting has been finalized.

#MODELMINORITY: A MUSICAL PARODY REVUE
DESCRIPTION:
#ModelMinority is an original piece which addresses the highs and lows of Asian Americans in the entertainment industry. The production will be based on real-life accounts and feature first person stories from Asian American performing artists, directors and writers as they talk about issues of identity and representation in the arts.
SEEKING:
Looking for actors with strong music background, including musical theatre, instrumental, voice and rap. Dance experience a huge plus. Strong singers preferred. In need of four to five AAPI identifying actors; all other roles are open to any and all identities.
Looking for one young, AAPI actor age 6 - 12, any gender, and is proficient in classical piano. Will play at the beginning of the show. Ability to sing is a plus. Rehearsal commitment is light. Must be available for all tech rehearsals and performances.
