Creative Alliance Development Director

The Creative Alliance seeks a Development Director to join our senior staff. The Development Director is responsible for creating andimplementing the organization’s development and fundraising strategies to meet its contributed income goals. He/she leads the staff and board in stewardship of current donors, funders and partners, and identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospective individual, foundation and corporate donors. The following are illustrative tasks:
- Develops the annual and capital fundraising plans with the Executive Director and Chairs of the Development Committee and Capital Campaign Committee
- Staffs the trustee development committees.
- Develops and manages the major donor program
- Manages the development staff to achieve Capital, Special Events, Membership and Annual Giving revenue goals.
- Works with the Executive Director to schedule, write, submit, and report on foundation and corporate grant proposals in accordance with their guidelines.
- Researches and develops new sources of government, foundation, corporate and individual annual and capital funds.
- Works with the Finance Director to maintain accurate financial records
Requirements:
- 10 years experience in development with increasing responsibility and fundraising success.
- Experience with all facets of fundraising including grant writing, individual donor solicitation, corporate sponsorships, and planned giving.
- At least 4 years supervisory experience.
- Skill in developing and implementing fund raising strategies.
- Proficiency in donor/data management (Patron Manager)
- Excellent writing and speaking skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the local and regional nonprofit arts community funders
- Capital Campaign management experience
