BMA seeks Education Program Coordinator

The BMA is seeking a detail-oriented Education Program Coordinator to assist in the project management, implementation, and evaluation of Education programs from October 2015 through October 2016.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in administration and project management, communicate and collaborate successfully with colleagues, and have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The position will need to be available selected evenings and weekends for Education Department events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate and help coordinate inter-departmental communication, approvals, planning, and logistics for Education activities in the galleries and throughout the Museum.
  • Communicate and coordinate with visiting artists, scholars, performers, and program presenters.
  • Under the direction of the Director of School and Teacher Programs, schedule presenters and participants for Docent programs and meetings.
  • Attend and facilitate selected Education Department programs.
  • Develop and administer work schedules, budgets, and other resources to ensure that programs meet milestones and desired outcomes.
  • Track project accounting and billing and coordinate vendor contracts.
  • Help organize and administer testing and evaluation activities, working with outside consultants as necessary.
  • Manage the Programs calendar.

This temporary, full-time position reports to the Director of Interpretation and Public Engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS • 2-3 years of experience administering and implementing public and community programs for a range of audiences in a museum setting • BA in visual art, art history, art education, or a related field • Demonstrated project management skills • Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders • Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills BENEFITS The BMA is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
