The Howard County Arts Council seeks full-time Exhibits and Programs Assistant

The Howard County Arts Council, a multi-purpose non-profit arts agency, seeks a self directed, outgoing individual for an entry-level Exhibits and Programs position in a small, fast-paced office environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: administration of exhibits and accompanying gallery talks, coordination of installations, and maintenance of galleries; drafting and providing web and social media updates; design, printing, and mailing of invitations and brochures by set deadlines; coordinating mailings; taking committee minutes and handling related correspondence; administering an annual outdoor sculpture exhibit, answering and directing calls; greeting Center visitors; providing general administrative office support; and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: High school diploma/GED plus 2-3 years of work experience in office administration, Bachelor’s Degree, arts administration preferred. Must be able to use a PC computer and be proficient in Microsoft Office and/or similar applications. Gallery exhibit installation and coordination experience strongly preferred; Salesforce and Adobe Creative Suite experience desired. Must have own transportation; be able to operate an automobile; computers, and other office equipment; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; remain seated for long periods of time; and bend, stoop, reach, and climb without difficulty.

This is a full-time, entry level position in a community-based non-profit arts organization; occasional evening/weekend hours are required. Salary $37,000-$39,000, based on experience. Position is eligible for health benefits and vacation and sick leave.
