CHESAPEAKE SHAKESPEARE COMPANY in Baltimore is seeking an experienced WARDROBE SUPERVISOR for two of the shows being presented this fall, DRACULA and MACBETH. These are two separate positions but could be filled by one person.
DRACULA, directed by Gerrad Alex Taylor, with costumes by Kristina Lambdin, begins tech on September 27, opens on October 4, and closes November 9. Shows are generally Thursday-Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, with one Saturday matinee on Nov. 2. Call times are generally two hours prior to show time.
MACBETH, directed by Ian Gallanar, with costumes by Kristina Lambdin, is an intermissionless version of the show, performed for school groups. Shows are generally at 10am Monday-Friday. Tech for MACBETH is October 9, 11, and 14, with an opening performance on October 15. The show officially closes on Nov. 1 but depending on ticket sales the show may extend through November 15.
The Wardrobe Supervisor will be responsible for managing the costumes during the run of these shows. This includes pressing and distributing costumes prior to performances, laundering clothes after shows, performing minor repairs during the show and managing larger repairs in consultation with the costume designer, and helping set costumes and running quick changes. For DRACULA, the ability to spot-clean stage blood from costume pieces which may not be able to be laundered is critical.
These are paid positions: the stipend for DRACULA is $150 per performance week, payable at the final show (for a total of $900); the stipend for MACBETH is $50 per show, for a maximum payment of $250 per week, payable at the final performance of each week.
