Performance dates and times July 30-Aug 3. Rehearsals for adults 12:30-3:30pm one day a week beginning July. Dress rehearsals July 29 and 30 9am-3:30pm. Performances and rehearsals at Baltimore School for the Arts.

About the production: Voices of Carmen a Creative Collaboration and Conversation, is more than an urban musical adaptation of a classic story, it’s an opportunity to create a new work through youth centered conversation and creative development.
VOICES OF CARMEN is an urban musical adaptation of the opera Carmen. and a new work developed through youth centered conversation and collaboration.
This show set in a High School, is filled with fresh yet familiar renditions of George Bizet’s compositions, as well as original music and rhythms that capture the voice and soul of todays youth. A theme within the production is crossroads and the critical moments of reaction that lead you down one road or another. Post performance dialogue examines varying levels of conflict and resolution.
Voices of Carmen will open at Baltimore School of the Arts, be featured at Artscape, the DC Black Theater Festival and close Aug 3rd at the Kennedy Center.
