Single Carrot Theatre seeks Venue Managers for our upcoming production of A SHORT REUNION
UPDATE: This position comes with a $100 stipend to be paid within two weeks of completion of the project. Show Description:
To celebrate our epic 10th Season, we’ve commissioned playwrights from our past to write brand-new, never-before-seen shorts for SCT.
A Short Reunion, we will be bringing those artists and audiences to the Remington venues we know and love. This performance will be made up of site-specific, short plays that take place in the businesses around the neighborhood. Our walking tour of Remington’s restaurants, bars, and local businesses will bring new foot traffic to the area while creating an interesting and immersive theatre experience for our audience.
The production runs April 20-30th.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is highly organized, with strong attention to detail, and comfortable working in highly collaborative environments. As you can see from the description this is a theater crawl to venues around Remington. Each venue for this show will have an assigned Venue Manager(VM). It will be the VMs role to act as the venue’s assistant stage manager. You will be assisting the director, designer and stage manager with set up, run of show and break down. At one moment the Venue Manager may be asked to help load in set pieces, assist with sound design or set costumes/props and then at another moment this person might be asked to simply reset the space after one audience group moves through and you await the arrival of the next group. You will be asked to communicate clearly and effectively with our Lead Stage Manager. You will be asked to direct audience groups safely into and out of each space.
