It’s Election Day and as they said in typing/keyboarding class, “Now is the time for all good men (and women) to come to the aid of their country.”
Today it is important that the leaders and supporters of the arts, cultural, and creative community get out to vote.
In addition to voting for who will represent you in the White House and Congress, area voters have the chance to vote on important local leadership and ballot initiatives.
Because the election has a significant impact on our lives in the region, Citizen Artists Baltimore (CAB), a GBCA partnership with Maryland Citizen for the Arts (MCA) and the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation, engaged the candidates running for Mayor of Baltimore City about arts and culture and the role they play in building vibrant, healthy, and equitable communities. Check out the Baltimore Mayoral candidates’ positions on arts and culture on the CAB websiteand share with friends, family, and fellow voters.

And once you have done your civic duty, you can calm your Election Night nerves and await the returns at the Baltimore Museum of Art. The BMA is hosting a special nonpartisan election night event inspired by the new Front Room: Guerrilla Girls exhibition. In partnership with Center Stage and the League of Women Voters Baltimore City, you can join in-gallery conversations on the intersection of art and politics with BMA curators and educators and stay up-to-date on election results. Plus enjoy music by DJ Isabejja and short, personalized plays written during the night.
Best,
Jeannie
