B&O Railroad Baltimore revolutionized by Shipbuilding and the Railroad

Presented by Jon Goldman, Curator for the. Jonathan joined the B& O Museum in September 2019 as chief curator and provides leadership and management of the museum's interpretation, exhibitions, collections, archives, restoration, and education teams.

His talk will look at the relationship between the Harbor and the B&O’s founding in 1827, as well as the symbiotic relationship between Baltimore’s harbor and the B&O Railroad in reinforcing Baltimore’s important place in national trade in the 1800s, fueling Industrialization in Europe, and into the early 20th century.
