Greetings,
As you know by now, it is my great honor to serve the Baltimore community-at-large as I stand at the helm of the Urban Arts Leadership Program for the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance. I consider this as “no small task”. It is a task that is rich with hidden nuances and challenges that often feel like a personal affront when they rear up to stymie forward motion. There are times when I must hold fast to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s words… “Carve a tunnel of hope through a dark mountain of disappointment.”
In spite of it all, and because of it all… There is now a brief history that is beginning to show itself after five cohort iterations within four program years. I am most humbly grateful to program founder, David Mitchell, for his vision that resulted in the programmatic footprint that I have inherited. I am additionally, appreciative to all that have paused in any way, form, or fashion to act as a champion for the Urban Arts Leadership Program. I am clear that the effort exists because of the support that it receives. Thank you. Please read on to see a snapshot view of where the Urban Arts Leadership Alumni are now and where they have been since their graduation from the program.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kibibi Ajanku
