Executive Director's Letter
June 7, 2016
Artscape is coming and I hope you are as excited about the line-up as we are!
If your organization is a member of GBCA, this is a reminder about participating in the Cultural Tent at Artscape. This annual event is America’s biggest free, outdoor arts festival that attracts over 300,000 visitors to Baltimore. Last year, 20 organizations performed at GBCA’s tent and 65 of our members took advantage of the opportunity to attend and share information about their great work with the crowd. There is no cost for GBCA members to participate in the tent. You just need to contact Janica Alston at [email protected] to let her know of your interest. Special thanks to the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts for making this great opportunity possible.
Are you an artist wanting to know more about creating a winning Rubys proposal? Program Manager, Sonja Cendak will host a special information session on June 9th at ExitTheApple ArtSpace. This comes just in time for the recently opened applications the 2016 Rubys Artist Project Grant application for Visual Arts and Literary.
Do you remember how GBCA was talking about space? Well, the interactive SpaceFinder Baltimore website is ready to receive your data. To learn how you can be among the first venues and rental spaces to be listed on the site, GBCA is hosting four SpaceFinder Baltimore Working Sessions over the next five weeks. Staff will provide hands-on technical support to get you up and running. You can find details about the sessions listed below. Additional work shops for artists, organizations, and others in need of space will be announced after the site is officially launched next month.
Best,
Jeannie
