Dear Friends,
The impact of the COVID 19 crisis is a stunning reminder that the world can change in the blink of an eye. As we each move forward in our evolving new realities, we are hungry for information and starved for connections. Humans do not do well when either is severely rationed, so we turn on the radio and television, read the paper, and watch our news feeds to keep up with details that govern our day-to-day existence. Yet, how do we foster our human connections?
We turn to the artists who have found creative ways to ensure that our communal humanity is sustained. We have books and music, and now the very nearly direct experiences made possible through technology. As change-makers, innovators, teachers, healers, brothers, and sisters artists continue to connect us with each other and with ourselves.
To help you find your way to artists while keeping a social distance, GBCA’s Culture Fly calendar has been re-imagined to put virtual events in the forefront.
It is up and running now, and being further populated as we speak (write/read).

GBCA is also resuming the Thursday Culture Flyer email promotion with virtual events. If you haven’t already signed up, you can subscribe at the bottom of the page here. As a patron or audience member, GBCA also asks that you also support artists, and arts and humanities organizations. The cultural ecosystem is fragile and will need your contributions to make it through the COVID 19 storm to calmer shores.
