Congratulations to Baltimore Center Stage on the opening of its spectacular refurbished space and triumphant homecoming. With upgrades in technology, lobbies and a brand new, highly flexible 99-seat theatre called Third Space, this special chapter in Baltimore Center Stage’s history is an awesome accomplishment—Bravo!
Looking for something fit and fun to do this upcoming weekend? Dance and BMore will be featured at the BMore Healthy Expo, Saturday, March 18, from10:00am to 5:00pm. At the Arts Alive Stage, CJay Phillip and her Faza Fam Jam will be performing along with several other GBCA members. I hope you will spread the news and come out to this great event.
I was so honored to participate as a judge this past weekend for Maryland History Day’s district competition in Baltimore City. The theme for all projects, which included performances, presentations, websites, and documentaries, was “Taking a Stand in History.” The young participants were so inspiring and enthusiastic on topics that ranged from current events to 18th century philosophy. Students who progressed will go on to compete in the state competition on April 29. Congratulations to everyone involved in this event, especially Maryland History Day's organizers Maryland Humanities. It was also so nice to see Janet Felsten from Baltimore Green Map, Marvin Pickard of the Jewish Museum of Maryland, and Joe Wood from University of Baltimore, and Jeff Buchheit and Shauntee Daniels from Baltimore National Heritage Area.
On the topic of weather, I love Foot’s Forecast for the run down on storm activities. Even if you are not a weather geek, they provide great an accurate information with a hint of levity.
Hoping you are snug at home,
Jeannie
