Deep Vision Dance Company, Inc. seeks a part-time administrative assistant OR intern with a passion for the arts, marketing, fundraising, designing, and community work. This creative, organized, confident, and detail-oriented individual is committed to working in a collaborative, energetic, and professional environment and values honest communication.
Founded in 2011, Deep Vision Dance Company is a Baltimore-based nonprofit organization operating under a mission to engage, inspire, and motivate the community through high quality dance performances and educational experiences. The organization is dedicated to producing visually stunning and emotionally moving choreographic art in the Baltimore/DC area and beyond. DVDC creates a "company" home for dancers, collaborates with local artists, plays a role in sustaining the Baltimore arts scene, and educates the community through workshops, classes, and mentoring programs. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and Marketing:
- Update the Deep Vision website
- Design and send emails to the Deep Vision list serves
- Design and create the annual campaign email series
- Design and create professional looking flyers and postcards
- Assist with press release design and distribution
- Fundraising
- Assist with silent auction procurement and organization
- Coordinate and oversee annual photo shoot fundraiser
- Import data to Mailchimp and Donor Tools and create spreadsheets using Microsoft programs
- Undertake other administrative duties as requested by the Manager and Artistic/Executive Director
- Submit regular updates
Requirements
- A minimum of one to two years experience in marketing, advertising, and fundraising or strong desire to learn through hands-on experience
- Highly creative and ambitious
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle numerous details, with appropriate follow-up and reporting of activities
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Availability of personal computer and scanner (DVDC provides no physical office space and contractors work from home)
- Expertise in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Experience working with (or quick ability to learn) Donor Tools, Google Docs, Drop Box, Mailchimp, Website Tonight (Go Daddy) and/or similar programs
Starting Date: Transition of materials starts immediately with assumption of full responsibilities on September 1, 2015
Salary: Internship or part time contractual position. Part time contracts based on level of experience – ranging from $100-200 per month. Commitment consists of 3-4 hours per week with the understanding that some weeks/months are busier/lighter than others, particularly during fundraisers and performances. Contract lasts for 1 year and is renewable.
