The Murray Jazz Residency presents two concerts featuring this semester's guest artist, saxophonist/composer Ingrid Laubrock. The first concert on Wednesday, April 2 will feature Ms. Laubrock with her colleagues, Tom Rainey on drums and cymbals; Sam Pluta on electronics and Dave Ballou on trumpet. The second concert on Friday, April 4 will feature Ms. Laubrock with the student ensemble she rehearsed during the week long residency.

A highlight of each semester is the performance by the creative and innovative TU Jazz Faculty Ensemble. The group includes John Lee on guitar; Dave Ballou on trumpet; Jim McFalls on trombone; Jason Rigby on saxophones; Eric Kennedy and Mike Kuhl on drums and cymbals; Jeff Reed on bass, and Savino Palumbo on piano. This concert is extra special as it is the final faculty concert for our beloved retiring professor Jim McFalls. Join us as we celebrate Jim's 25 years at Towson!!

Towson University percussion studio students will perform high wire acts of artistry and showcase evocative and varied repertoire.

April 25 - 27
The TU Music for The Stage Ensemble brings Henry Purcell's baroque masterpiece Dido and Aeneas to life. Based on the Virgil's Aeneid, Dido and Aeneas tells the story of Dido, the Queen of Carthage and her doomed love for the Trojan Prince Aeneas. Purcell's only opera features raucous choruses, evil witches and Greek gods, all culminating in the hauntingly beautiful aria, "Dido's Lament".
