The Exhibition Department at Stevenson University is pleased to announce the 2025 spring featured faculty exhibition in the School of Design, Arts and Communication lobby gallery. Ms. Fiasconaro is a Professor of Film and Moving Image at Stevenson University.

“There is No One What Will Take Care of You” is inspired by the true story of a Baltimore artist and his journey towards empathy after the death of his daughter from an overdose on heroin that was provided by a friend. With the friend facing 50 years in jail, the father opted to support his recovery and release, rather than painting the family as victims and pursuing retribution. In addition to empathy, the parallels of drug use and painting as ritual are explored, as well as the dichotomy between public and private spaces and personas; what do we see or know about a person and how might their public versus private life conflict or differ?

Elisif Bruun and Peter Bruun’s paintings and writings will also be included in the exhibition installation. https://bruunstudios.com/
