In conjunction with our neighbors at the German American Cultural Center of Maryland, we will be screening “Army of Thieves” at The Peale. This movie is in German and will be played with English subtitles. Coffee and cake will accompany the movie.

“Army of Thieves” is a 2021 German heist film directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, serving as a prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. The film follows Ludwig Dieter (played by Schweighöfer), a small-town bank teller and amateur safecracker, who gets recruited into a group of international thieves. Together, they embark on a mission to crack a series of legendary, nearly impenetrable safes across Europe. Set against the backdrop of a zombie outbreak in the U.S., the movie focuses more on high-stakes heists, comedy, and Ludwig’s character development. Army of Thieves blends action, humor, and romance, offering an entertaining ride for fans of heist films and Army of the Dead. Movie is in German with English subtitles.
