This October 13th, we're kicking off a new film screening series: IT CAME FROM THE CLOSET! Hosted by OMEN and inspired by It Came From the Closet: Queer Reflections on Horror (essays on horror film though a queer lens) we'll be screening and discussing a new film and companion essay on the 13th of every month from October through March 2024.

Join us each month for drinks, a film screening, and an informal post-screening discussion after. This month features special guest artist, Joe Valese, the editor of It Came From the Closet: Queer Reflections on Horror!

Grab a copy of the book! Support local! The collection of essays, "It Came From the Closet: Queer Reflections on Horror", is available at Red Emma's and Greedy Reads. While attendees are encouraged to purchase the book to support the queer and trans authors, those who have signed up for emails from OMEN will be offered a scanned digital copy of the essay just in case you are short on funds.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS, OMEN

OMEN is a Baltimore-based horror movie club for women, trans, and gender-nonconforming folx. In watching and discussing horror from a variety of times and places, we explore our fears and passions through the genre, pulling our own experiences and self-identities out of the masturbatory loop of cismale-centered creation and critique.

NOTE: This Boovie (boo! movies! boobies?) series is focused on queer, trans, and female voices in discussions around horror. If you aren't in those categories, you are welcome to come out, but step back because you ain't getting center stage. ; )
