General Purpose: Manage the operational and programming functions for the Baltimore Creatives Acceleration Network (B/CAN), which provides strategic and as needed, just in time support for arts entrepreneurs of all disciplines and backgrounds in an effort to foster a stronger, more equitable creative ecosystem and economy in Baltimore.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Work in concert with B/CAN team to generate audience-responsive and seamlessly executed programming to support creative entrepreneurs
• Coordinate logistics for B/CAN’s business accelerator & incubator network, mobile unit, and events including generating contracts; booking vendors, venues, mentors, instructors, speakers, artists, caterers, drivers; acquiring permits, equipment, supplies etc
• Create and manage B/CAN’s program calendar
• Oversee purchasing and maintenance requests for B/CAN HQ and B/CAN mobile unit
• Manage inventory, display, and sales of B/CAN store items
• Recruit B/CAN volunteers and interns
• Facilitate B/CAN volunteers orientation, schedules, waivers, and incentives
• Research and cultivate local and national creative entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and service providers to both support and inform B/CAN’s program development
• Develop and maintain a contact / customer relation database for B/CAN including artists, businesses, program participants, partners, vendors
• Assist with financial tracking and administration for B/CAN operations including bookkeeping, processing invoices, reconciling credit card statements, and reporting
• Assist in the development and conducting of regular program evaluations
• Perform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Effective oral, written and visual communications skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven administrative skills including budget management, project management and time management
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel, basic bookkeeping, and CRMS
• Ability to navigate complex partnerships and community relationships
• Knowledge and understanding of Baltimore’s creative community
• Ability to approach work with commitment and creativity
• Organized self-starter who works well within a team environment
• Proficiency with collaboration
• Skilled in taking initiative
Minimum qualifications:
• Proven experience managing programs in the arts
Preferred Qualifications:
• Entrepreneurial experience
• BA/BS
• Working with public programs in the arts
