Position is temporary, 2hrs/week for 10 weeks @ $20/hour.
Class may be extended based on youth feedback and program budget.
Responsibilities
- Develop a 10 week class plan
- Engage youth, ages 14-20 at the BYA Community Studio
- Assist youth in developing collaborative and independent projects, such as: T-Shirt designs, poster designs, personal websites, logos
- Operate each class with BYA's values in mind
- Track participant attendance and submit to BYA staff
- Assist in the documentation of student work
- Attend bimonthly trainings with other BYA staff and instructors
- These positions require instructors to maintain patience, flexibility, and a good sense of humor!
Minimum Qualifications
- Current creative practice related to job
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Well versed in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- 3+ years experience in Graphic Design for print and web
- Prior experience teaching or working with teenagers/young adults (minimum of 6 months)
- Patience and a sense of humor!
