Single Carrot Theatre seeks a qualified Stage Manager for our upcoming production of Savage Love by Sam Shepard and Joseph Chaikin. Stage Managers are responsible for attending and managing all rehearsals, tech rehearsals, and performances, prep and clean up, detailed and clear note-taking, overseeing storage and upkeep of all rehearsal props and costumes, production paperwork, maintaining the integrity of a production through its run, and overseeing and delegating to assistant stage managers. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with strong attention to detail, and comfortable working in highly collaborative environments.

Pay is a $650 honorarium, to be paid within two weeks of the end of the contract.

Pertinent production dates are as follows:

Start date: ASAP

First Production Meeting: August 24th, 6pm-7pm

First Rehearsal: August 30th

Tech: October 17th – October 25th

Performances: October 26th – November 20th

SCT generally rehearses in the evenings and will typically have 3 to 4 rehearsals a week.

SCT’s general performance schedule is Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.

Brief History:

In 2006, a small ensemble from the University of Colorado conducted a nationwide search and decided to lay down roots and build a theatre in Baltimore. Now, entering its tenth season, Single Carrot theatre has produced 43 mainstage productions, participated in numerous collaborative endeavors with area nonprofits, offered extensive educational programming for both children and adults and engaged in international exchanges with theatre artists from Russia and Bulgaria. Single Carrot Theatre moved to a permanent home in January 2014. Firmly planted in Baltimore, Single Carrot Theatre has made it a priority to be a part of the community and to engage and empower Baltimore’s residents through theatre.

Structure:

Single Carrot Theatre is an ensemble based theatre company where the ensemble artists of the organization also serve administrative roles. Each ensemble member has voting rights and is actively involved in any big picture decisions and creation of new policy.
