Baltimore Museum of Art Seeks Board Liaison

The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) is seeking a highly-motivated Board Liaison to play an important role in their fast-paced Development Division. The Board Liaison is responsible for coordinating all activities and communications associated with the Board of Trustees. The position works with the Development Division, Director’s Office, Chair of the Board, Board Committee Chairs, and Staff throughout the Museum to ensure the smooth functioning of these activities. The position reports to the Deputy Director for Development and is also responsible for providing administrative support for the Deputy Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage Trustee communications:
  • Respond in a timely manner to Trustee questions and requests
  • Coordinate all mass communications to Trustees
  • Prepare standard correspondence
  • Create and maintain Trustee meeting calendar and coordinate dates with key Trustee and Staff.
  • Coordinate all logistics for Trustee events and meetings, including Board and Executive, Governance, and Stewardship Committees
  • Send notices and track reservations and attendance
  • Take meeting minutes and transcribe for review
  • Prepare meeting materials and distribute in advance
  • Maintain website and annual Trustee Manual
  • Assist Deputy Director for Development with:
  • Trustee Annual Fund campaign
  • In a New Light campaign
  • Planned giving program
  • Daily office activities

QUALIFICATIONS • 4-year undergraduate degree, Liberal Arts or Arts Administration preferred • 2-4 years Development or Board Management experience • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media • Experience with Raiser’s Edge or other donor database • Excellent communication skills, written and oral • Excellent time management skills • Ability to anticipate needs and challenges and manage multiple priorities • Ability to work independently and in a collaboration with colleagues • Ability to work evening and weekend donor events • Passion for the arts BENEFITS The BMA is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
