The winners of the 2012 Mary Sawyer Baker Prize will be announced April 25 on Maryland Public Television with host Tom Hall of WYPR and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society. In addition to the announcement, the program will introduce the work of this year’s winners and recap the recipients of the 2012 b Grants. For more info on the b Grant winners, click here.
For more on advocacy, Americans for the Arts announced that the Obama Administration has released the much anticipated FY 2013 budget request to Congress, which includes funding for the nation’s cultural agencies and programs, such as the Institute for Museums and Library Services (IMLS). The Department of Education’s Arts in Education program also includes an increase to $154 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).
