Last week, I was pleased to participate with arts representatives from around the state in Maryland Arts Day. Congratulations to Maryland Citizens for the Arts for hosting an amazing and energizing event. It was heartening to speak with and hear from our elected officials who support the inspiring work of GBCA members. Stay tuned for updates on the 2012 General Assembly and remember that our hope is to maintain funding at current levels for the for the Maryland State Arts Council in 2013.
GBCA is in conversations with other partners including Vist Baltimore and Baltimore National Heritage Area to help raise the voice and profile of the cultural sector in Baltimore. Specifically, we are exploring ways that cultural organizations can participate in the upcoming events and promotion such as those associated with the celebration of the War of 1812.
Having celebrated my one month anniversary at GBCA, I more excited than ever about what the future brings and ways that we can work together.
